The story of the game sees you lost in the woods and you need to find these eight pages of a mysterious book. That is really what this game is going for and in that regard it does work. However, on the flip side of this, the whole lore of the Slenderman is kind of at its very best when you know as little about it as possible. On one hand, you could look at this and say that it is very barebones and it would be hard to argue against that. The story of Slender the Eight Pages is rather interesting.
